What is Expressive Arts Therapy?

Therapy that works with all of you

Expressive Arts Therapy uses both verbal and non-verbal expression as a way into your inner world.

Through movement, music, image, poetry, drama and more, you can reach feelings and knowings that words alone can't always find.

When we learn to listen to our bodies, they usually have a lot to say. In this way, Expressive Arts Therapy can be deeply healing, often taking us to places we don’t expect.

Because expressive arts therapy does not require retelling painful experiences in detail, it can offer a gentler pathway for people carrying trauma.

Collection of icons representing wellness and creativity, including a dancing person, a paint palette, a musical note, a camera, a person acting with a mask, a leaf, a person meditating with light rays around their head.

You don't need to be an artist. You just need to be curious.

Expressive Arts Therapy is for anyone wanting to know themselves more deeply and feel more at ease in life — people in transition, those experiencing grief or anxiety, teens, creatives, and those who think they’re “not creative”.
